SuJok-Introduction

Its basic premise is that, the human body was created in such a way that it is capable of self cure. It is an ancient oriental philosophy that has its origins in the Vedas, although it has been rediscovered by  Prof. Park Jae Woo, a Korean Scientist, about 35 Years ago. SuJok is a drug free treatment system using and manipulating energy points like acupuncture and acupressure.

SuJok” is a combination of two words. In Korean ‘Su‘ means hands and ‘Jok‘ means feet. Thus, SuJok actually means treating ‘HANDS and FEET’. The organs and systems of the body are represented totally in the hands and feet only. It is similar to Reflexology in concept. SuJok is completely safe and non-invasive. It is inexpensive and makes use of commonly available materials. Its results, especially in the area of pain relief, are instantaneous.

SuJok Therapy incorporates the best of traditional oriental medicine practices and terminology. It recognizes energy systems of meridians, and chakras and has similar as well as different methods to deal with the same.  It is an instant and effective healing therapy without medication and is absolutely safe and does not have any side effects.

In SuJok, the correspondence Body System in Hands and Feet is shown as below :

Body Organs in Hands and Feet

  • The thumb corresponds  to the neck and head.
  • The second and fifth fingers correspond to the upper limbs.
  • The third  and fourth fingers – to the  lower limbs.
  • The knuckles correspond  exactly to the joints of the limbs.
  • The palm, the foot and their backs – to the torso.

The  SuJok therapy has entirely been created on the basis  of the  correspondence  systems  located  on the hands  and feet.  It  consists of two  levels or dimensions. The  first level/dimension is based on Physical healing method and is easy to use by people and includes several healing correspondence systems of the 12 main meridians, the 8 extra meridians, and their attendant points are represented on the hands and feet. They are known as Byol meridians and Byol points.

The  feet takes more pressure everyday than the hands. Therefore the  healing  impulses created by the  pain SuJok points located on the feet are more effective.

The second high level/dimension of SuJok is based on metaphysical healing method. It is more complicated, and to learn, more careful preparation is needed.
